Amzel was started in 1983 by Andrew Thorby as a consultancy specialising
in engineering design within motor racing. The company has undertaken many whole-car
projects, taking charge of the design from the early conceptual stage through to the
initial shakedown testing, and beyond. It also provides consultancy design services on
smaller-scale projects, and race engineering capability in every category.
Amzel's designs have been acclaimed for their innovative
concepts and the quality of their detail engineering. These hallmarks can be seen in every
aspect of the cars for which the company has been responsible - from aerodynamics and
composite structures through to suspension systems, transmissions and engine design.
Amzel's core philosphy is that the essence of engineering
is making the maximum use of the minimum resources. We apply that philosophy to every
project we undertake, whether Formula Ford or Le Mans Prototype, whether
whole-car, or single component. Our focus is always on using creative design to achieve
optimum results with minimum expenditure - of materials, engineering tools, time and money.
We sum it up in two words -
DESIGN INTEGRITY
